Elminsc laughed a bit when Jayt and Bearnard began speaking of her death. Yet she did not bother to confirm nor deny Jayt's answer.
"Someone?" Elminsc repeated Jac's words. "Are you telling me that you people still don't know Shaddai?" She looked around at the group, but didn't seem to see the recognition she sought. "Shaddai is the world. I believe you people call it 'Terca', although that has grown to mean just the land we walk on, and not necessarily the will of the planet." She paused for a moment. "The world has acknowledged the Humans' strength. But that does not necessarily mean that Shaddai accepts Humans. It has only acknowledged that Humans hold the potential of being worthy... perhaps one day you'll be able to hear the planet too. Do you think you are strong enough?" She smirked, and there was something different about it... perhaps their answer would determine their outcome...

"Individually, no."
Orcatess shifts his stance. He pulls his left foot forward, allowing to prepare a horizontal strike towards Jayt, but keeps his right leg diagonally back to withstand a blow from his shield. He's not wholly concern about the ghost -- if she attacks, it'll be a direct one.
Orcatess doesn't move his head towards Jac, focusing solely on what's in front of him, "Also, lower your hand and focus Jac. You don't know who that man is; and more importantly, you don't know if he's friend or foe." Orcatess directs his speech towards Elminsc,
"You're too vague, ghost, and I'm growing weary of your rhetorical questions. You say Shaddai must acknowledge worthiness -- what is worthiness? Are the worms beneath us worthy, for they do nothing to ill this world? Are the animals worthy, for they replenish this world's circle of life? Being worthy to live... that starts as soon as someone is born. That starts when a town bands together to live in peace amongst factions. That starts when men will shed neither blood, nor tear to accomplish the common good for his people. We are ALL worthy to live in this world, for the right belongs to everyone and everything; and if this Shaddai wants to take the very essence that is us from us, then it can try... but will fail to Celestial Alliance."
His eyes narrow, his neck slightly down in a charged position, and his mouth opened to breathe deeper, Orcatess has every intention to hold his ground against a monster that very well could not be held in this realm. In his mind he was still racing to think of a way to counter-attack any assault she could throw out, but he was confident in his abilities to pull through.
"I'll say this once more, Elminsc: tell us why you're here. If Shaddai brought you to this world, then there's a purpose. If you can't remember, or don't know, then leave!"

"Orcatess, there is no need to be so cautious, as long as they aren't attempting to murder us." Jac said. "'Hostility breeds more hostility'. My mother would say that a lot. I've taken that to heart, and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. After all, Nikolas hasn't tried to murder me yet."
Jac slowy took his hand down and walked to Orcatess and whispered to him, "And let's not try to make the ghost we have no idea how to handle in battle angry, shall we?"
He turned towards the ghost again, "So Shadai is the world and it's will together. On top of that, it acknowledges the potential worthiness of the human race... But that does not explain why you are here, and why Mr. Not-friend over there is here. And, we have no idea of eachother's motives. So far, all of this talking has gotten us only a short distance. So, could either of you elaborate, on top of continuing not to murder us? I assure you we mean no harm, despite the rudeness of my allies having their swords drawn."
Jac motioned for his allies to put away their weapons, but he had no idea if they would.

Jayt glanced at Bearnard, but didn’t bother adding anything to his last statement. As he’d said, he was far too young to be the one to have killed Elminsc, and considering the late hour, it was not inconceivable that another had been present. He didn’t say it aloud, but there was always the possibility of another spirit. It wasn’t like the Exodites had resting souls if the legends about them and their grizzly ends were true.
So he waited. These people were obviously interested in Elminsc, not him. He retracted his weapons, careful to keep the triggers hidden away from prying eyes. A bored expression crossed his face, though internally he analyzed every single person in the near vicinity. They were an odd group to say the least, each one different in fighting style, age, and capability.
His eyes narrowed as he hid a smile, completely amused, though his annoyance hadn’t disappeared in the slightest. Did these people honestly think they were going to get a straight answer out of a ghost, and an Exodite ghost at that? If he didn’t know better, he would’ve just called them all naïve and leave it at that. Orcatess’ blade posed no threat to him, and he ignored the ‘politeness’ that’d been requested of those present. As far as he was concerned, this had nothing to do with him.
He moved to sit and leaned against the side of a gravestone, one knee drawn up and arm balanced on top of it. Something told him to stay, at least for the time being. It wasn’t like he really had anything better to do for the moment.

Elminsc laughed. "I didn't ask if you are worthy. I asked if you were strong," she looked at Orcatess. "You tempt me to argue your reasoning, especially since Humans are not native to this world. But if I did, I would be speaking for myself, and not for Shaddai." She shook her head. "No... Shaddai does have one reason for bringing me here. I can understand its voice much clearer than when I was alive."
A few feet away, a low growl sounded from the darkness. Pairs of red eyes began to shine through the darkness... They encircled gloom below them on the hill. The Alliance members were completely surrounded.
"I don't know why 'Mr. Not-friend' is here," Elminsc continued, as if either she could not hear the strange monsters, or if they did not concern her. "Perhaps the planet wants to understand him too... or perhaps he is being punished." Other strange noises joined the growling. From afar, something creaked and cracked...
"If you die, you weren't worth Shaddai's time anyway."
A monster howled in the darkness. Wolf-like monsters erupted from around the group, each one having two heads. The Fenrir were a native monster of Ragnarok, yet they typically travelled in packs of five. There had to be at least ten of them, although their numbers were difficult to discern. They weaved in and out of the group, double heads each equipped with sharp fangs and claws. One launched itself at the group, and another two were immediately on their heels to continue the assault. They completely ignored the ghost, yet Mr. Not-friend was not as lucky. The monsters swarmed the entire gathering on the hill.
Elminsc folded her hands. Looking to the sky, her mouth opened, as she began to sing again. The song completely blanketed the area, perhaps through some magic, had completely muted all other sounds. The monsters, all weapons; everything was silenced beneath her song.

Jac wanted to shout, but couldn't speak. 'A lot of good that did' he thought.
He drew his sword as fast he could, and confronted the first fenrir. he tried a horizontal slash, but the beast grabbed the blade in one of its maws, while the other snapped at him. He jumped away, but lost his sword in the process. Now Jac is just standing, without words or weapons, trying not to get his face murdered.

Punched wolf face into it's other face twas awesome indeed. It would be a great story for sure but that would be if we all survived nothing ruins a story more than someone dying, which sadly could very likely happen with the current situation. Adelbern is a great fighter but in this dark and unnatural sound I have no idea of how he is faring and there is no way I'd risk losing him on our first mission together although I wouldn't even if it was our hundredth. However I could see that Jac was in a bad spot and I wouldn't be able forgive myself if I just left him being cut off by one of the many wolves made it impossible to make it to him for now at least and I probably shouldn't have only punched the previous one as awesome as it would be later it wouldn't be a threat right now had I simply slashed it's face off, oh well it's the price I pay for being theatrically minded I just hope the others still end up alright.
Adelbern immediately tried to communicate with his team but this ghost obviously didn't want that to happen, no doubt she summoned the things. Well if one cannot work with his team it's best to use solo tactics with that in mind Adelbern headed for a patch of graves he saw earlier in hopes that it will stop him from being overrun.

Jayt calmly faced the oncoming pack. He hesitated a mere second, the memory of a friend long lost enough to make him blink, but with a flick of his wrists, his blades were loosed. The first one that leapt at him ended with its right head’s throat cut; the other head soon followed. He paused again, looking down at his arms and the blood splashes soaking into his clothing.
This was more than familiar. He glared over at Elminsc and snapped, “Would you shut up?” but the sound was swallowed in her music. It was not the first time he’d wished his blades could strike ethereal matter. Soon enough his hands were full dealing with another two fenrirs, their four heads snapping relentlessly at his arms. He was careful to not let them get behind him, remembering they had a tendency to surround their meal.
As he defended against one, the other smashed into his chest and pinned him to the ground. Four heads dove at him; only two came back for a second try. One scratched his shoulder, the fangs lightly digging in, but Jayt had dealt with far worse. His life had been nothing but one fight after another – it came with the training he’d received.
For a brief moment he was back with those he could have once called allies. They fought off a group of monsters much like these. It did beg the question though: why were the monsters active again? According to the historical texts, creatures only grew agitated when something wasn’t right with the world, or at least that had been what happened when the Exodites took power.
He swiftly killed the second one still firmly sitting on his chest and pushed the carcass off to the side. The others were fighting for their lives just as much as he had been. There were more approaching, too, the physical odds in favor of the fenrirs. Ignoring his shoulder, Jayt slashed at the new creatures. He really had no intention of helping this little group, but it looked like that would have to be the case until these monsters were taken care of.

The monsters at least were a far cry from ghosts. Their physical presence was very much real. As slippery as they tried to be, still a fair amount of the fenrir were punched in the snout or sliced in half. Still the stream of Fenrir persisted, yet their ranks broke easily against the others' might. Some of the fenrir tried to corner Jac when his sword went amiss... Yet Bearnard's and Jayt's ferocity scared the monsters off. Soon the fenrir turned to retreat, tails tucked between their legs, as they ran off into the hills.
As soon as the last monster disappeared, Elminsc ceased her singing. Her song's absence, devoid of any crickets or owls, made the entire land seem even more unnatural than when she first appeared. For a moment she stared at them, no expression of joy or disdain upon her face at their victory. "...You possess the minimum amount of strength," she finally spoke. "Enough to give the planet hope, at least." She closed her eyes. "The people that are attacking Shaddai... They march against you, as well. But they underestimate your forces. Tomorrow they will send a small team to strike swiftly, and hope to claim your clan's base."
((sorry for the massive delay guys. In the interest of timing I ended the fight))

Jac about crapped his pants.
He hadn't considered the possibility that someone would attack the clan base, and that he could be so useless on the battlefield. Those two together, well, made him upset, to say the least.
He wanted to play things off, and just try to be cool about things, but he just felt like crawling into a hole and dying.
He thought about it for a minute, but then decided it'd be better to train in anti-useless for tomorrow. Deciding there was no time to lose, he dashed out of the graveyard, to the nearest starbucks, and then to the training grounds.

First I have to find out if Adelbern is alright, on my way over I notice a gash on Adelbern's left arm so I quickened my pace. "Son let me take a look at that, let's just hope it's- oh well it isn't serious." "Yeah it's nothing I was fast enough to have the thing's teeth only scratch me instead, but what about you and your shirt?" "Oh that, it was a simple battle transaction it got some of my tunic and I got some of it's face and a wonderful story but then so did you." "Almost losing my arm isn't a good story and neither is your story of being lucky it didn't reach far enough to get your chest." "You don't tell it how it happened son, you spice it up and sometimes combine bits into one part so it sounds better, see for me it wasn't luck it was manliness see I first punched one head into it's other head and then when it went to attack me it's claws could only get through my tunic before shattering on my large amount of chest hair, and for you instead of you narrowly escaping it's teeth you purposefully went in to ram a knife into it's brain, just continue on from there and you'll have a tale almost as grand as mine." "Whatever let's just head back to base." "First look around we still have yet to have seen or hear anything about Volund, it'll also give you time to garnish your story I'll test you on it on the trip home."
I head back to the other's hoping to put myself at ease about Volund. "Well you definitely know how to handle yourself and you helped us out so I figure I should call you something different than Not-friend, but before we decide what we'll call you, I have one question to ask, have you by chance seen anyone else in this graveyard we were supposed to meet one of our leaders here and I'm a little worried since out of the two he's the more punctual." Perhaps he had a one time lapse of character and is still at base or perhaps fell ill, makes me even more worried that those are the best cases.

Jayt rolled his shoulders to loosen them. He knelt beside one of the corpses and opened his pack up, removing from it a salve and a bandage. He quickly treated his shoulder – the last thing he needed was to let it get infected – and wrapped the bandage around before tying it off. It was only then that he realized someone was talking to him.
Though his eyes traveled over the graveyard to make certain no other fenrirs were around, he was still studying this group of people. They hardly looked like a professional battalion, but there was some skill amongst them. That would have to be something he remained aware of.
“…I go by Cecil,” he answered with a frown permanently etched onto his face, “and if you’re talking about Volus or Volund or whatever his name was, I haven’t seen him since earlier today.”
Then he turned to Elminsc, his deep glare directed at her. “Who’s attacking? For once speak in plain Common, not your stupid riddles.”

"Why would it matter to you?" Elminsc questioned Jayt, probably less likely to give a direct answer after being directly insulted. "You have no reason to connect your path to theirs. Although ironically enough, they will cross paths with a masked man that is familiar to you... so perhaps you will choose to stay with them after all," she shrugged, still sounding smug.
"Your leader is unharmed, and waiting for all of you to return," Elminsc answered the earlier question. "I fear that this will be our last time together. But if you do manage to survive the oncoming storm, then perhaps I will hear you through Shaddai." She closed her eyes, folding her hands. "What comes next is in your hands..."
The ghost began to fade away... until at last, nothing remained of her. The strange air around the graveyard seemed to lift. Crickets chirped again, and the noise was filled with its normal sounds.
Volund stood close by one of the graves, at their original meeting spot. His arms were crossed, as if he had been waiting for some time. Perhaps he had failed to see the ghost or fight? He looked up at the hill... and visibly jumped when he saw the group standing there. Clearly caught off guard, he quickly closed the gap between them. "I don't know how I missed you here," he admitted, still confused. Then his eyes fell on 'Cecil,' and Volund visibly tensed. "Was there some kind of trouble here?" He seemed to be asking more about Jayt than the ghost...

"Ah there you are boy, Adelbern never mind he's over here!" With his worries for Volund now gone Bearnard could relax enough to realize something else.
"Oh don't worry about Volund, we're alright got some tales to tell, got the ghost to leave after much babble, and now my body says it's time to get food perhaps we can talk more about all this over a nice hot meal." getting ready to leave Bearnard turns back to Cecil, "I suppose you could join us if you want Cecil, but if not I suppose I aught to thank you again for the help." And with that he went on his way.
Adelbern had barely made his way a bit in his search when his father called out to him, well at least it wasn't after getting too far out still a little irksome but oh well, after saying his partings he caught up with Bearnard and they both began to speak about dinner, food seeming to be one of the few things Adelbern is eager to talk with him about.
(I switched view point, not on purpose but I'm too lazy to change it, but I still posted in triumphant victory/Delayed decentness.)
