It was another new day. Most of the immediate damage from Acheron's attack had been cleaned up. The dead were buried, and the outside of the HQ at least looked presentable. Freya had called another meeting -they were having so many these days, but she had little choice. "Listen up!" She addressed those that had gathered. Volund, the infamous Luna leader, wasn't present... "Our next actions could affect not only the outcome of the Celestial Alliance, but all of Terca," she stared levelly at the group, making sure she had their full attention. "First, about Volund... Although we will still be planning the Alliance's moves together, I will be speaking for him and temporarily take over the command of Luna, in addition to my own Sol division. His injuries aren't life-threatening, but he needs time to recover. He'll be back as soon as he's able." She doubted there would be any objections. The divisions were one big family after all, even if they had split into sibling groups. Plus, she'd still be talking to Volund about his opinion, he just wouldn't be the same public face as before.
"Now, to move on to the main topic today... We'll be talking about our next steps after Acheron's attack. Their captain in the last raid made it very clear that this wasn't a single occurrence. They'll send more enemies against us, likely in even greater numbers." A low murmur sounded from the gathered crowd. Already there were rumors about Iola and how she'd been 'let go', supposedly without any reprecussions, early this morning so few could protest. They weren't a big clan, and fighting against sustained attacks from a group with strange weapons was... "But!" Freya spoke louder, the others falling silent. "Acheron's actions allow us to directly call upon the treaty that all territories signed with Nexus at the end of the Eternal Night, forty years ago. They are honor-bound to help us fight against this invasion." Her fist tightened. "I would like to send a small team to Nexus and have them call upon this treaty. Nexus must be informed of Acheron's war, for them to send us any aid. Are there any volunteers to act as diplomats on the Celestial Alliance's behalf to Nexus?"

Nikolas got in the meeting room early, some members were already present. While he still hadn't fully recovered of their last battle, he'd still be ready enough for some action, as long as he wouldn't be facing another magic witch.
Freya got in the meeting room alone and took place in front of everyone. She started by reporting about Volund's condition, explaining how they'd both take decision together, but she'd be the one to report them to the alliance. Since Volund was still recovering and would not take part in any action, she was to take control of Luna's division during that time.
"Now, to move on to the main topic today... We'll be talking about our next steps after Acheron's attack. Their captain in the last raid made it very clear that this wasn't a single occurrence. They'll send more enemies against us, likely in even greater numbers."
Some people started talking in the crowd, Nikolas remained silent, glaring at Freya. He was still slightly mad at the fact they had let the enemy go like that, without any consequences.
So that was it, a meeting to send some diplomats to Nexus for help... Well it's not like they had a lot of options anyway, the only thing they could do was getting a better defence for the next attack, no one knew where Acheron was. Yet another proof that letting Iola go like that was a mistake..
Nikolas raised his hands, to say he'd be a volunteer.
"I'll go, if they're bond to help us by a treaty, I'll make sure they follow it. And if it's necessary to convince them, I'm sure I'll find some arguments.."
his hand was really close to his sword and a smile was almost showing on his face, he'd be ready for action if it was needed.

After the briefing Raine and by extension her brother volunteered for the mission. Raine had been brushing up on her politics quite a bit and was eager to give them a try.
We'll volunteer captain! Raine said as she and her brother stood up.
Ulric stood as to be sure that he'd be there to protect his sister should things for any reason get out of hand. Who knows what could happen, would the other side even listen? trap and hold us hostage? Hopefully this could all just be a peaceful meeting and things will go by smoothly.

Sakon arrived just in time for the meeting. he had been out for a while, so he missed on the action, so he wanted to be there when the next thing was going to happen. From what he gathered, a group of people attacked the alliance and they were able to capture one of them. Apparently Freya let her go, Sakon couldn't tell the logic behind that, but he wasn't there, so no use complaining. Freya stood in front of everyone, but Volund was strangely missing.
"First, about Volund... Although we will still be planning the Alliance's moves together, I will be speaking for him and temporarily take over the command of Luna, in addition to my own Sol division. His injuries aren't life-threatening, but he needs time to recover. He'll be back as soon as he's able."
He was wounded. That explained why he wasn't there.
"Now, to move on to the main topic today... We'll be talking about our next steps after Acheron's attack. Their captain in the last raid made it very clear that this wasn't a single occurrence. They'll send more enemies against us, likely in even greater numbers."
Now that was interesting. Finally a chance to fight.
Oh. Some political thingy. Less interesting.
"I'll go, if they're bond to help us by a treaty, I'll make sure they follow it. And if it's necessary to convince them, I'm sure I'll find some arguments.."
This guy almost took his sword. It seem he was excited about going to an other territory. Maybe there was some chance to pick a fight over there. Sakon raised his hand.
"I guess I'll go too"

Kale covered his mouth, barely concealin a giggle. For the first time in his guild career, he was the first one at the meetin place. Sure, there were the usual grunts and NPCs and the like, but none of the main guys... yet. Sure enough, Kale then saw Niki enter the meetin place, of course with a sullen look on his face. Maybe he slept late or somethin, he wouldnt kno. After Niki left the dungeon last night, Kale decided that hittin the local pub by himself was just a little TOO lonely... so goin home early was the only option. Kale looked around the crowd of people and saw some familiar faces, most notably the siblins. Kale also saw an unknown person with a peculiar hair color, must be another new member.
"Listen up!" Kale looked up to see Freya addressin the crowd. "Our next actions could affect not only the outcome of the Celestial Alliance, but all of Terca!" Eyaaaa, sounds like quite the big deal. Freya went on about how they needed diplomats to go to this Nexus place... sounds like a lot of work honestly. And the fact that she was askin for volunteers meant we probably wont get paid any extra. Blehhh. Niki then raised his hand like he was in school and declared his intention to go. Yea, cause Niki's the diplomat we need goin, lol. The siblins and the purple(?) haired dude quickly followed suit. Ehhhhh... it'd be lonely to stay here all by myself so...
"Oiiiii, Freya! I wanna go too! Someone's gotta watch Nik- errrr, I mean... when're we goin?"

Jac's memory was hazy. After running home to put on some clothes, he hadn't been paying attention to what was happening in the clan. He really didn't understand much of what he did that day, and it gave him a raging headache, so he decided not to sweat it. So he still isn't quite sure what's happening, but he decided to roll with it.
Jac showed up with a condition similar to a hangover, though he knew whatever had happened yesterday was over. This wasn't the same. In fact, it had a waning effect as freya continued talking. Overall he was sad to hear Volund was injured, but not displeased with the temporary unification of luna and sol. He rather liked all of the guys in sol, though he didn't know them quite as well as his comrades in luna. In fact, he'd heard some terrifying rumors about Nikolas, most of them from Kale.
After recovering from that tangent he heard Freya ask for volunteers for a... DIPLOMATIC MISSION?!?!!
Jac's hand immediately shot up. "I'll go! I could use a breather from whatever... happened... yesterday..."

The inn, at least, was relatively uncrowded, and Jayt had found a room to stay in while the clan members stayed together. For it being a relatively new group, they were already rather close knit, or at least that was how it seemed to him as an outsider. They protected their own, and a threat to one was a threat to all, though that varied slightly depending on the person. Several struck him as being far more 'kill first, ask questions later', but the ones who thought things through tempered their impulsiveness. All in all, if they continued to grow, they would be a group worth watching. This wasn't really a group of him, though. He didn't endear himself to them, and they didn't strike Jayt as being entirely useful to himself, but that was fine. He wasn't seeking allies; he was seeking answers. A hunter's job, after all, was never finished.
He left after paying his tab with everything he typically traveled with. He supposed he could have saved the money and spent his time out under the stars, but considering the attack had happened only a day or so ago, he hadn't wanted to risk being out in the open against larger numbers. So with basic provisions and his usual pack strapped to his back, he left the inn, only to find more than half of the Celestial Alliance gathered outside of their headquarters. He wandered over, one hand holding onto the strap of his bag, and listened to Freya's speech. Most of the others listened with rapt attention. He noticed that the siblings he had spoken with were planning on going, along with someone he had never seen before and two others he was certain he had run into during the battle. One of them made him pause - the one who had turned into a berserker on the battlefield - but Jac appeared to be back to normal. Whatever battle sense had taken over him had receded, at least for now.
Jayt approached Freya, sure to keep his eye on his surroundings, and bowed his head to her with a small smile on his face. His hood was off, allowing the sunlight to play across his features and highlight the minute scars that were otherwise invisible.
"I heard you let Iola go this morning," he said almost conversationally. "Considering what she and hers did to your clan, and to your brother, I'm surprised you did, but I suppose what's done is done. I'd like to request your permission to go with your clanmates, not necessarily in an official capacity. I'm heading in that direction anyway and your people are... intriguing." He patted his side where a pouch hung almost invisibly against his leg. "I think I forgot to mention I'm a bard by trade. Believe it or not, I've written quite a few songs during my young life, and the start of a new clan is always full of trouble and drama. Of course, if you'd rather I not accompany your people, I'll just go on my own way. But I'm decent with a blade, or so I thought I proved in yesterday's battle."

Freya beamed as more and more people began to volunteer. That's exactly what this clan needed - proactive members who weren't afraid to travel during dangerous times. Normally she would've been a bit worried about sending Nikolas... especially with his somewhat dubious words. But with Kale coming as well, Freya trusted that he would be able to keep Nikolas in line. Raine and Ulric had recovered after the last battle, and she felt much better adding their skills to the team. Even Jac seemed back to his old self. It seemed like it was going to be the normal ambitious team, but with an important addition... "You've chosen the best time to lend your skills to us, Sakon," she grinned. "Very well. It's a bit on the larger side, but I think additional numbers are warranted after the last raid. Nikolas, Kale, Sakon, Jac, Raine and Ulric - this task is yours. Good luck to you." The meeting was adjourned, with plans to set off as soon as the group was ready.
She had barely stepped down when their stranger Cecil hailed her. Apparently to talk about her decision about releasing Iola. A visible frown flitted across Freya's face - this was clearly not the best method of getting on her good side. And then there was that request... Normally, Freya would have urged him to go along. Cecil had helped during that invasion, after all. But... with Volund gone, Freya felt she needed her brother's wariness. And she was fairly certain she knew what he would think... 'He appeared around the same time that Acheron attacked us.' It could be a coincidence. Or... maybe not. "Only barbarians kill defenseless prisoners... and I'd rather not have her clan come here to look for her," she justified. She thought a little on his offer. Even if she said no, he could easily follow the group. And claim he wasn't following them, but sharing the same destination. "As long as your 'stories' don't harm the Celestial Alliance, you can go with them," she agreed. "You were a great help during that last attack. I hope you continue to prove the same in the future."
When the group had re-assembled and was ready to depart, Freya handed a map to Sakon. "This is a map of all the territories," she explained. Ragnarok was wedged between Suzaku and Resurrection. Nexus was nearly at the Ragnarok border, but there was a small patch of land in Suzaku territory that they would need to cross before reaching Nexus. "Please take good care of it. If something happens, appoint one of you as a messenger and return to HQ. We don't know for sure that Acheron attacked here first - be careful. When you reach Nexus, ask for their leader, Lord Cyrus. And make sure that they know our matter is urgent."

(OOC : This is the first 'on the road' post, I'm assuming everyone got ready and is walking in a group. I'm making some decisions on my own, I asked Meneil for some infos, but most of what I decided comes from me. You're all free to whine about it and ask for a ban... ok maybe not a ban, but you can ask me to change details. )
The group of 6 had made their preparations and were now walking toward south-east, in direction of Nexus. It was a good walk and they had 3 horses with supplies walking with them. Nikolas was somewhere in the middle of the group, his hands always on the handle of his sword, you never know when someone or something can attack a group like them walking on the road. Looking around to scan who was around, he could count everyone, Kale seemed in a good mood, like always, the siblings were walking together, there was that Jac guy, who seemed back to his calmer self, and the one named Sakon, whom Nikolas had not heard much of, who was the one with the map and was leading them to the destination.
Then he saw the hooded guy that was lurking around the Alliance's headquarters for quite some times now. So he was now following them on the diplomatic mission to Nexus, walking behind everyone. Who was he anyway? Freya knew the guy, but she never presented him to the rest of the clan and she let him roam by everywhere around them. Maybe he had her trust, but he didn't have his. Something about him was suspicious, the fact he was dressed like a thief or assassin didn't help.
As Kale was approching him to talk, Nikolas handed him the reins of his horse, telling him he had to do something, and then he slowed down his pace to let others bypass him so he'd be next to the follower. Trying not to sound to harsh or provocative, he looked at him, his hands still on the grip of his weapon.
"You know, I noticed your presence around the clan for quite some time now and I'm pretty sure you're not part of either factions. I know our leader has some kind of trust in you, but I don't know who you are at all and even if you helped us in the attack of that Acheron clan, I still don't trust you."
Nikolas paused while talking, replaying the events in his head, first they went to kill/capture the bandits in the ruins, then they came back. The next morning, they had a meeting to summarize the last missions. This is when the hooded guy made his first apparition in the clan's base. And before the end of the meeting, wyverns were attacking them.
"Now that I think about it, you appeared only a short time before that attack, nothing proves that you aren't related to them and were using that to gain some trust from our members..."
He didn't say anything more, waiting on the other man's reaction. It wasn't his plan to start up a fight while they were going on an important mission, even less if it could put him in bad terms with the leader, but he had to get some answers.

Jayt kept his distance from the others, offering nods of acknowledgement whenever Celestial Alliance clan members looked his way. Clearly he was the outsider of the group, a place he preferred. They didn't know him; he didn't know them. He did have the advantage of knowing where they were going relatively well, though that depended on the route the young man leading them decided on. He wanted a chance to look over the maps, but he was already on thin ice with this group. The last thing he needed was another reason to be shoved away.
He supposed, to an outsider, he looked like he was just heading in the same direction. What did these clan members see when they looked at him? A warrior? A fool? He rechecked his weapons again, only pausing when he noticed he would soon not be alone. Adjusting the straps to his pack instead, he waited for Nikolas to drift back and begin to walk beside him. Here was an unknown factor - Nikolas was hardly a kind soul. If anything, Jayt suspected Nik to have more in common with a murderer than his fellow clan members. Still, the man had proven himself in battle. That was enough for now.
"Anything I say likely won't change your mind either, I'm guessing," Jayt said with a shrug. "Your leaders met with me when I first arrived in Ragnarok. Freya offered me a chance at a job - the postings regarding the ghost in the graveyard and the local robbers - and I took her up on the job offer. Or rather, I would have, if those wolves hadn't attacked first. If you're insinuating I had anything to do with Iola, you're mistaken."
He rolled his shoulders, cracked his neck, and stretched one arm above his head. Despite Nik's transparent accusation, Jayt appeared unperturbed. Jayt had his own concerns regarding Iola, ones he wouldn't face to someone he didn't trust.
"I'm surprised you didn't just disobey your leader and kill her," Jayt admitted and offered Nik a tiny smirk. "It seems to be more your style than diplomacy."

"Anything I say likely won't change your mind either, I'm guessing,"
There goes his chance of getting any answers, seems that hooded guy wanted to stay a mystery to the them. If anything, it made him even more suspicious to Nikolas. Still, there was some truth in that, trying to defend yourself from those accusations wouldn't make you innocent in everyone's mind.
"Your leaders met with me when I first arrived in Ragnarok. Freya offered me a chance at a job - the postings regarding the ghost in the graveyard and the local robbers - and I took her up on the job offer. Or rather, I would have, if those wolves hadn't attacked first."
Nothing to say about it, if it's true it's fine, but then why didn't she tell them when they had a meeting that morning? Someone who would be there when they were going to hunt a ghost or bandit could end up easily in a misunderstanding...
"If you're insinuating I had anything to do with Iola, you're mistaken."
The man didn't seem to be troubled by his questions, if anything it seemed to him like he didn't care much about them, he was just following the action... Kind of an opportunist.
"I'm surprised you didn't just disobey your leader and kill her,"
Nikolas was suprised by the remark, he raised an eyebrow and looked at the man, he was saying that with a tiny smirk.
"It seems to be more your style than diplomacy."
"Seems you know more about me than I do about you, must be usefull to have a free pass to spy on everyone. I would've loved to put my blade through her throat, but it was leader orders, and I can't allow myself to get in bad terms with them (yet). If she decide to face us another time, I won't hesitate and end her life before anyone can make her a prisoner. As for diplomacy, even if it's not my style, I must accept the fact that the enemy is stronger than us and that we need to get some allies."

"So you consider these people your clanmates then?" Perhaps Jayt had misread Nikolas. He had assumed the other man was more of a lone wolf type, but perhaps this clan provided him with stability or at the very least additional bodies that could be of use in a battle. The way Nikolas had handled his weapon indicated he definitely had witnessed combat before. It would probably be wise to watch out for him; he seemed to have a sharp eye and sharper mind when it came to observation.
"I don't really need to spy on you all. It isn't like your mission is incredibly secretive or anything." Missions of peace rarely are. "Hopefully this will yield something aside from more politics." He brushed the few strands of hair out of his face.
"What made someone like yourself join a clan?" the bard asked curiously. He seemed more relaxed than before, perhaps because they were on the move. He also knew this area better than Celestial Alliance's territory. "This doesn't seem to be your usual crowd, or I might just be assuming too much."

Nikolas ignored the part where Jayt was wondering if he really was considering them his clanmates.
"I don't really need to spy on you all. It isn't like your mission is incredibly secretive or anything. Hopefully this will yield something aside from more politics." You don't have to tell me... Diplomacy is boring...
"What made someone like yourself join a clan? This doesn't seem to be your usual crowd, or I might just be assuming too much."
Nikolas had a sarcastic smile, he choose his word before answering.
"Maybe they don't seem to fit with me, but I have my reason.. And since you didn't answer my own question, I hope you won't mind if I refuse to give you an answer." Nikolas paused for a moment before continuing "And even then, I consider them more trustworthy than you and wouldn't give them an answer either. Let's just say no one here is on my bad list, for the moment... "

They had been traveling for some time, and even managed to leave Ragnarok's territory. Suzaku, Ragnarok's neighboring territory, had a boot-like shape on the map. The 'foot' part of Suzaku was the small patch that the group was required to walk through, in order to reach Nexus. Years ago, Suzaku had been a clan dedicated to God and the clergy. They claimed to be the very first clan in the entire world, and that all clans could directly trace their descendant line through them. They had also been the most active and brutal group against the Exodites, known for witch hunts that extended across all territories... Perhaps unsurprisingly, during the Eternal Night, the Exodite Twins targeted Suzaku. Suzaku was hit so hard by the attack, that it had never really recovered from its destruction. Without a clear leader and its people in disarray, multiple clans sprung up from Suzaku's ashes, all vying for power.
On the path was a traveler. She was clearly dressed as a traveler, with a cloak and heavy knapsack on her back - an extremely large one that bulged and clanked with each move. "Hello there, strangers!" She called cheerfully when they were a more appropriate distance. "Are you from Ragnarok, perchance?" Considering their travel path, it was an easy deduction to make. "I'm a traveling merchant - Pyri's the name! Can I interest you in my wares? I've got lots of stuff you've never seen in Ragnarok!" Before anyone could answer, she'd dropped the pack she was carrying with a giant clang. She opened it wide and began shifting through the contents. "I've got clothes to fit all kinds - even a perfect replica of Bishop Kaiten's armor!" She held up said armor, which was truly more like a monk's garb than anything else, before continuing her mad search. "How about this?!" Pyrhi held up what looked to be... a rock. A black little rock that could easily fit into her hand, but chiseled into a square shape. "This might just LOOK like a stone, but it's actually what they used to detect Exodites in the ancient days." She sidled up to Ulric, whispering. "You'll know there's an Exodite about when it starts to vibrate and glow blue," she whispered, perfectly loud enough for the others to hear, likely on purpose. For now.... the stone wasn't glowing or vibrating at all, appearing very rock-like.
"Or if ya fancy yourselves the studious type, feast your eyes on this!" She whipped out a book, holding it up triumphantly. The sides looked charred from some kind of fire... Pyri opened it to a random page, showing the contents off to the group. ...The inside displayed a strange tool of some kind... but one that the majority of the group had seen. Long-barreled and stick-like, yet without an edge... it was undoubtedly the same weapon that Iola had used against Volund. "One of the last books from the ancient world! Barely managed to put it back together again." She snapped it shut abruptly, Iola's weapon disappearing from their view. "So, what'll it be? I also got rations and water, if lost world stuff ain't your thing."
