As Kale jumped backwards, what appeared to be the “cliche-hooded-mysterious-op-stranger” of the clan rushed forward to attack the Vein Witch. Looking for an opportunity to rush again, Kale waited for Iola to drop her guard. Dam. Looks like Hood Dude is beatin on Iola's back. Maybe I should help Niki in the front... Kale began to run toward Niki when all of a sudden, Iola randomly clapped her hands. Kale abruptly stopped and quizzically turned his attention to the witch. He questioned the tactic of drawing attention to oneself by randomly clapping your hands in the middle of the battlefield... Then he felt the crushing pressure: like a giant hand pushing him away. He looked and saw everyone being pushed away as well. Holy shit. What the hell kinda technique is that, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms...?
“Raine, NOW!” Huh? Kale broke his train of thought and looked up at the sky. His ahoge changing to a question mark due to the lack of precipitation. The air felt... weird though; it grew extremely humid quickly and the telltale sounds of thunder grew louder. Had to be magic... better wat- BOOM! An extremely large bolt of lightning came crashing down at Iola. The force of the bolt made Kale lose his footing and crash to the ground. The power of the huge lightning bolt also caused dust to fly, forcing Kale to tightly shut his eyes. He could barely make out the charred body of the witch when the cry for a retreat came from above. The frightened enemy wyvern riders hastily flew away from the clan headquarters. It appeared the battle was won... but I didn't get that much stronger...? God this map sucked, I needed more exp. Kale picked himself off the ground and tried to approach the unconscious witch; however, someone beat him to the body. Ulric approached her and fuckin picked her up like a sack of potatoes. His sister obediently followed behind him as they went in the direction of the dungeons. Seemed like she was to be placed there for the time being. Not sure if we have the means to keep her here, but not like we hav a choice. He followed Ulric to the dungeons just in time to see Niki stare at the petrified thief. Oi, you bully... Kale then turned back to the witch to see the hooded clan member came as if from nowhere and started to question her. Huh. 2 dangerous people who have no qualms of killing people with our only source of information... Shit.
Kale frantically ran all throughout the headquarters to find his leader. He finally found her next to her unconscious brother.
“Freya? I kno that this is a bad time, what with the battle just ending and Volund still unconscious and all... But, we got Niki near the thief he tried to kill and a hooded stranger interrogating Iola in the dungeons. Could we... gather everyone and decide the next course of action...?”

Jac Picked himself off the floor. He couldn't hear the voice anymore, and had control over his own body. It appears as though his clothes were missing... "WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY CLOTHES?" Luckily it seems that no one saw him, so he ran home and changed quickly before returning to the headquarters. There weren't many people in the main room, except maybe Kale, Freya, and Volund? His head still hurt, so he wasn't sure if it was them or not. He heard some noises coming from the dungeons, so he took a look down there. He found Nikolas staring down the scared-as-shit theif and Jayt interrogating some woman. When he came into her line of sight, she glared at him. So did Jayt, but it wasn't like the glare he'd recieved the previous night, more like a comdemning stare than an intimidating one. Jac's head was pounding, and he didn't quite know what heppened. His shoulder was cold as ice, which was surprising as it had felt pretty scorching over the past few days. Jac walked back into HQ and sat down for a while telling his head it was OK, and that it doesn't want to explode. It got better after a minute and he spotted Freya, for sure this time. It looked like Kale had already asked her a question and was waiting on a response, but he decided to ask anyway. "Hey Freya, what happened to the commander, and to me?"

Kale was awaiting a response when he heard a loud, abrasive sound behind him. He turned around to see the Chunni holdin his head with a pained expression in his face. Dam, poor Chunni looks like hes hurt... Maybe I got some Advil or somethin. Kale looked through his pockets and finally found the magic pills. As he tried to offer the medicine to the pained fellow, the Chunni blew right past Kale and questioned Freya. No, thats cool. Not like you need to acknowledge my existence or anythin. Kale turned to Freya and said, "Well, since someones here already, I'll go venture back down in the dungeons. Gotta makes sure none of the POWs die... before they giv us some juicy info. Come get me when you want us to meet."
Kale returned to the dark dungeon half expecting the thief to be cleaved in half by our resident bloodthirsty murderer. To his surprise, he saw Niki intimidating the still-alive thief. The poor guy was trembling and looked like he was going to wet himself. With a sigh, he quickly approached the bully.
"Oi, Niki. Mind not scarin the poor thief? Hard to get info from him when hes too busy soilin himself."
(If anyone wants to join in conversation to kill some time, go ahead.)

Freya was doing her best to take care of Volund. She looked up as Kale spoke. He was right... She needed to pull herself together. Gently but strongly she lifted Volund, carrying him bridal style. With Freya's strength, she made it look easy. "I'll take him to rest, and grab a doctor. Then I'll be there as soon as I can," Freya promised. "In the meantime, please try to keep the prisoner alive. We might learn more about why her people attacked us, and those strange powers." She started walking back to the HQ, quickening her pace. As she reached the entrance, she saw... Jac without any clothes on. "Volund will be fine..." She averted her gaze slightly. "But put your clothes on!" She demanded, brushing past him, still intent on settling Volund and then dealing with their prisoner.
--------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Iola could no longer offer any resistance, helpless as Ulric hoisted her off to the cell. Her face twitched with pain, her eyes opening slowly after being set down inside the prison. Iola's arms hung loosely by her side, blood trickling down where the veins once were. Her monstrous strength had seemingly receded, the veins now gone, and back to her original form when they'd first seen her. Despite her terrible condition, her skin clearly burnt practically everywhere, and blood trickling down her arms and face... She managed to glare at them with surprising strength. Although defeated in combat, it seemed her pride was still in tact. "I already told you who I was," Iola answered thinly, voice practically a growl. "I'm Iola, of Clan Acheron. And I am just one of many - what you saw today was just a tiny strike team. There are... many, many more in Acheron," she smirked weakly. "You insects actually managed to beat me in combat... I suppose you were coordinated, or I was careless, or perhaps it was just dumb luck. You can ask me all the questions you want... in the end, it won't change your fate." Her eyes shifted to Jayt. Despite his dark tone, Iola wasn't intimidated in the slightest.
"You're certainly curious, for someone speaking as though you're not part of this clan," Iola chuckled, the motion ending with a wince in pain. "You're all in Ragnarok... but the question is, do you know the history of your own blood-soaked land?" She began, readying to indulge them with some answers. "The truth is, Suzaku kept more records about the world than the individual territories themselves. I suppose with the constant changing of leadership and clan wars, it only made sense that the oldest clan would record history. In the most early records of all Terca, the first Exodite leader Ephraim created an abyss within Ragnarok, swallowing both foes and allies - the event which marked him as a leader of their people, and after which, he claimed to hear the voice of the planet. It was also in Ragnarok where the Exodite priest foretold the prophecy of the twin Exodite children, which started a civil war between the precariously balanced peace between humans and Exodites. Finally, this is the birth place of the Exodite twins, Elminsc and Ronin... a more recent story you're probably more aware of. The first territory to be attacked during the eternal night, was not the strategical masterminds of Suzaku, nor the militaristic might of Sigil. No, the first place they struck... was here, in Ragnarok." She stared at the group coldly, as if willing them to piece together the truth as well. "Why was that? Was it simply out of revenge? The 'battle' here was hardly a battle... with the onset of the eternal night, and the presence of the Exodites' return then unknown... The twins' attack was a massacre."
The graveyard just outside Celestial Alliance, the rows of countless dead, spoke to that fact. The first attack the Exodite twins launched against their homeland... there was no sense to it. It had been a massacre, as Iola stated. No Exodite was even wounded during the battle. "We believe that Ragnarok is the center of the world, so to speak. The world's core," Iola continued to explain. "The planet must hold some kind of influence here, greater than any other place in the world..."

While Nikolas was thinking of a way to be able to finish off his target on a way that wouldn't get him in too much trouble with the leaders, like finding a way to make him breach out of jail and run or something like that, Kale got next to him.
"Oi, Niki. Mind not scarin the poor thief? Hard to get info from him when hes too busy soilin himself."
"..Fine" he answered with a sigh, he brought back his attention to Iola in the other cell, just in time to hear her start answering Jayt's questions.
"I'm Iola, of Clan Acheron. And I am just one of many - what you saw today was just a tiny strike team. There are... many, many more in Acheron, You insects actually managed to beat me in combat... I suppose you were coordinated, or I was careless, or perhaps it was just dumb luck. You can ask me all the questions you want... in the end, it won't change your fate."
Ignoring the rest of her tale, Nikolas was trying to think about what was going to happen next. If this was only a strike force, and a small one from what she said, that meant they would have to face much stronger foes when the survivors would make their reports. They'd have to be prepared for that time, like the devil has said, they were probably lucky to have defeated her this time.
"We believe that Ragnarok is the center of the world, so to speak. The world's core, The planet must hold some kind of influence here, greater than any other place in the world..."
It seemed like she was done, before that hooded guy could ask anymore questions, Nikolas took his turn to ask some.
"I don't really care that much about the 'why', but I'd like to know about the 'how'. You said this was a 'tiny strike team' right? so I have 2 more questions about that. First, how big would be a 'second' strike team compared to this one? And then, are all strike team leaders able to use some kind of weird magic or weapons like you did against Volund?"

Iola was more observant than Jayt gave her credit for. She noticed his rather lack of attachment to these people who were already attempting to work as a full-fledged team, even if they were inexperienced and practically strangers. Funny how nearly dying at the hands of another clan threw things into perspective for all of them. Even so, her words were filled with a certain ominousness, like she knew what was to come. This land was hardly his - after all, Ragnarok was not his homeland - but that didn't mean he was blind to the damage that had been wrought here.
The actions of the Exodites were legendary, almost as legendary as the people themselves. He thought of the ghost - Elminsc - and found his hands curling into fists. Iola wasn't quite as cryptic as Elminsc, but their messages were almost identical: something, someone was coming, and the entire world was about to be thrown into chaos that hadn't been seen since the War.
Much of her tale was at least somewhat known. The Exodites, their bloody ruining of the world and its people, and their eventual defeat. Ragnarok had been the beginning of the end - an aptly named clan - so perhaps it should not have been surprising that it was a place of more pain and death. He recalled the graveyard, the headstones lined and cracked and worn over the forty years that had passed, and frowned. Of course - how ironic would it be to have this place, a place of beginnings and endings, always be the one location where everything was guaranteed to go horribly wrong.
He could just about picture the bloody massacre that had decimated Ragnarok's population, destroyed much of the civilization, and the Exodites responsible for the heinous attack; smell the desiccated corpses, the stink of death that stuck to everything; taste the dust and ash and thick air; feel the flecks of blood that must have coated both perpetrator and victim. The story went they - the Exodites - had been completely unscathed, bathed in the blood of the victims they had thoughtlessly slaughtered, either laughing like lunatics or devoid of expression beyond acceptance. Naturally it also could have been a bard's infamous retelling of just another story, but something in Jayt's head told him to be wary, to think of the truth that could exist behind those words. No tale was without some kernel of truth, after all.
Were the Exodites returning? Was another bloodbath inevitable? War was the only thing this land had known... perhaps then, it was appropriate to see it once again awash in red and glistening in the burning sun, bodies spread across the ground and hacked limbs providing some twisted version of landscaping.
Another voice, this one from the one called 'Niki', began asking a new set of questions, ones that Jayt admitted were about the best to be asked next. If this clan was to survive, they would need to stand together, regardless of his own presence there. He forced his hands to relax at his sides, an impassive look masking any of his true emotion. He did his best to keep his thoughts from showing, as some had no business appearing in this place. Nik was correct - the why certainly had been important, but the more immediate danger needed to be addressed.
"... What magic was it you used?" Jayt added, an afterthought to Nik's thorough, straightforward questions. Clearly Nik was intelligent enough to know when to stay his hand, though Jayt could just about picture him reaching for a blade. For now, Nik and Iola alone held his attention - the others seemed purely secondary to the current problem. He wondered, briefly, if the others in the room knew or would object to torture. In his youngest years he had trained with the best of the best - if those skills needed to be employed, especially if he learned anything that would serve him personally - then he would do what needed to be done.

After lightly chastising Niki, the swordsman began to lose interest in the poor thief and go towards Iola. This was all for the best really, there was no way in hell we were gonna get any info from the prisoner when hes too busy blubbering in fear. It seemed like Iola attracted quite the audience, as she began to divulge what she knew. Kale didnt really pay attention, he heard snippets of information. Ephraim.... twins... Exodia... Sigil... what the hell is she talkin about? Could I get a tl;dr?
The last bit about the "Sigil" quickly brought to mind some... unpleasant memories. Seriously, how the hell is someone expect to hav the patience to dodge 200 lightnin bolts...!?
With Niki and the hooded guy grillin Iola, Kale felt little need to stay. A better use of his time would be to get some more info somewhere else... Luckily, with Niki gone, maybe the thief would be looser with his tongue. He grabbed a nearby chair and deftly placed it in front of the thief's jail cell. Kk, time to play "Good Cop, Bad Cop." Kale quietly sat down and began talkin with the prisoner.
"Heya again, sorry 'bout the way we handled ya. You did kinda attack us though, but luckily Niki didn't go all... 'blady' on ya. Now now, dont worry. That bully wont be here for the time bein. I do got some questions about what exactly you kno thats happenin right now, but before that," Kale reached inside his coat and grabbed a small rectangular box. He quickly unwrapped the packagin and flipped open the lid. Grabbin one of the sticks and placin it into his mouth, he then turned the box towards the young thief and inquired with an upturned grin, "Wanna pocky?"

Ulric pondered at the words he had heard. "If you're only looking for the world's core, why attack us? ...is there something I wasn't told amongst the chaos?" Ulric said as he looked to his leaders"...and could no one else hear those horrific voices!?" Ulric's head turned quickly trying to view everyone from some sort of response...an answer to his confusion. His sister stood by his side very concerned.

So many questions, so little time. Iola stared apathetically at the group, shrugging. Her gaze turned to a slight glare at Nikolas's strategic questions. "I suppose you'll just have to wait and find out. We didn't expect to fail, so even I don't know what Acheron's second step will be." She sighed. "Some of it was magic. Some of it wasn't," her tone suggested she was talking to children. "I'm sure it's all too complicated for you to understand. Suffice to say, our technology is more advanced than yours. I'm sure you'll find other unfamiliar things as well."
Meanwhile the thief sniffed, trying to clear the beginning of tears. He took the offered pocky and began to nibble on it uncertainly. Definitely a bit confused, but not completely ungrateful.
"...and could no one else hear those horrific voices!?"
Iola's smile faded. "You heard... voices?" The stare she was giving him... was different somehow than anything she had shown before. More cold, calculated, harder than any she'd displayed... even more frightening than the gaze she had given Volund. Iola's arms lay limply by her side, but her hostility had increased. Even though she made no move, she emitted a certain intent to kill. "You know, the Exodites... claimed to hear the voice of the planet...."
"I think you've all heard enough as your reward. Now kill me and be done with it, or leave me in peace." She had a set face, and didn't seem like she'd be doing any more talking... willingly, at least.
The sound of footsteps interrupted them. Freya had finally finished, padding down into the prison. She looked over her friends that had just fought so hard... Clearly, Freya was exhausted, but she was doing her best to remain upright and have a strong face. "I heard... the last few parts," she said. She thought of Volund... her brother would be okay, but this was the woman responsible. She didn't exactly feel any affection to her. "Ulric... are you okay? You were injured not long ago, so perhaps you should lay down... Rain, please take him to rest upstairs." She sighed. She didn't know what to be doing in this circumstance, but she was the leader, so she had to do something. "This is an issue for us of the Celestial Alliance," she told Jayt firmly. "Please wait upstairs."
There were only two left... "Nikolas, Kale and I will settle this," she decided.

Outwardly, Jayt made no sign he felt anything beyond vague interest in Iola’s words. He kept his gaze locked on her, lips forming a thin line. Though he said nothing, his body was taut like a bowstring, ready to move at a moment’s notice. She was still dangerous when wounded.
What kind of technology was she talking about? Jayt tried to remember seeing her holding something, but all he could think of was her weapon. If it was still on the field, he very much wanted to take a look at it. He was not about to be caught unawares.
His head snapped to the side when Ulric spoke his question, his eyebrows drawn downwards as his lips formed a frown. The sound on the battlefield – he wasn’t talking about the wyvern cries was he…
He looked back to Iola and studied her face, the way her features shifted into a look far more hateful and vicious. His hands tightened on the triggers to his weapons, fingers feeling along the metal he had used to fight with his whole life.
Killing her as she was would be easy and the best method of dealing with her, so far as he could tell. She had nothing else to give them, and really, she was proving to be more annoying than anything else. The clan would soon face a new, stronger enemy, and their attention needed to be focused on that threat, not the one locked in the dungeons.
As much as he wasn’t a part of the clan, the upcoming fight was not one he could miss. He was drawn to the danger and the fight, a part of him desperate to once more feel the heat of combat. Though he wasn’t as hasty to kill anymore, he knew it as much as he knew his name that soon enough, his feeble rule would soon be utterly shattered.
Jayt gave Iola one more look and straightened his back. It had been a while since he felt such a necessity to kill so many. One step, one strike –
“This is an issue for us of Celestial Alliance. Please wait upstairs.”
His hand stopped, fingers halfway to triggering his blade, and regarded Freya out of the corner of his eye. He had seen her and Volund in the battle, watched her attempt at leadership. If she could keep a clear head, she would make a decent commander, but there were a lot of things riding on her shoulders too, especially while her brother recuperated. It was for that reason alone he didn’t retort in front of her soldiers.
Briefly his attention darted to the brother and sister slowly walking away as per Freya’s orders. Without a word further to Freya, he moved past her, his cloak fluttering behind him.
He paused at the bottom of the stairs, far enough away to not be visible by those surrounding Iola or Raine or Ulric as they made their way up. After a count of ten he followed after them, his footsteps quiet and sure of themselves on the stone steps. He spotted the two continuing upwards to where he assumed the rooms of the clan members were being kept. A ghost of a smirk flickered across his face as he continued to follow.
Questions, ones that needed answers away from prying ears and eyes, were on the tip of his tongue, but these people had no reason to trust him, and he no reason to trust them. At least the two siblings being alone would make it easier to approach them.
Jayt brushed his hood back and revealed his head completely. Unclipping his cloak, he let the material slip from his shoulders and draped it over his arm. His sun-drenched, dark brown hair was long enough to tickle his ears, but not enough for a ponytail. Dark green eyes that flashed with a hint of silver instantly grabbed anyone’s attention, though the slight crook to his nose signaling a bad break (or a few) and the patter of small scars on his fair yet tanned skin had their own stories. His jaw, set and sharp, was clenched for the moment, but he forced himself to relax.
The collar of his black, leather vest went to just under his chin, hiding his throat, just as the worn pants did his legs. The sleeveless shirt he wore under his armor naturally did not hide his arms, which were littered with more scars and freckles from too much time in an overbearing sun. His bracers, relatively unadorned aside from some scrollwork along the sides, contained his main weapons, but the blades were hidden completely from sight. His other weapons - an old but well-made bow and quiver and a set of various throwing knives - hung from his pack, both wrapped in soft material and tucked mostly out of sight. He wore little other armor aside from leather greaves and thick, worn boots that had clearly seen better days.
His footsteps were quiet still as he followed the siblings into one of the rooms. It was plain – a desk, a small table and two chairs, two beds – but it felt almost welcoming with the warm fire in the hearth and the spattering of items that marked the place as the siblings’. He took a cursory glance about the room, searching for hidden weapons, but didn’t find anything to make him wary.
So he simply leaned against the doorframe and spoke up, waiting for the siblings to notice his presence and react.
“Ulric and… Raine, right?” he spoke quietly from behind them. “You said you heard something – a sound on the battlefield. What was it like?”
((Poster's note: Please remember that, if Jayt was introduced to your character, it is under the name 'Cecil'. If he hasn't, welp, you don't know his name yet. XD Just a little reminder since it's been awhile))

Kale was in a state of pure bliss. The young thief with the slightly teared eyes slowly munchin on the pocky... Ahhhhhhhhh... how cute! He's like a squirrel! Kale wanted to glomp the ever lovin shit outta him, but instead opted for the next best thing.
"There there, it'll be ok. The pocky's tasty, no?" Kale said as he petted the head of the thief. "Dont worry, I wont let anyone hurt ya as long as ya dont hurt anyone here... but first I hafta kno some things. Oh, and here's another pocky. Dam, you just plowed through that one, huh?" As Kale gav the timid thief the chocolaty treat, he finally began his questionin.
"What were you doin in those ruins? Why were you tryin to kill us? Whats the deal with the mask? And most importantly... who are you?" As Kale awaited a response, he heard a scream that made him jump up in his seat.
"...and could no one else hear those horrific voices!?" Kale quickly turned to face the screamer... huh? Ulric? What the hell is he talkin about...? Voices? Poor Raine was lookin at her bro with such worrisome eyes. Although the crazy statement should've been the most troublin event, Kale saw Iolas cocky smile turned into a murderous frown. This change in mood just from the mention of hearin voices startled Kale. ... She clearly knos somethin. Before Kale could get up and ask, he heard the telltale sound of someone enterin the dungeons. He looked up to see a person he least expected to see. Huh, Leader...? Shouldnt she be with her bro? Whats she doin here?
"I heard... the last few parts... Ulric... are you okay? You were injured not long ago, so perhaps you should lay down... Rain, please take him to rest upstairs." Kale watched Raine guide her older brother upstairs, probably to the infirmary. Ulric sounds like hes goin through some rough shit... maybe I should go up there with them...? Kale pondered. As he got up to follow the siblins he heard Freyas voice clearly through the silence, "This is an issue for us of the Celestial Alliance," Freya told Jayt firmly. "Please wait upstairs."
Kale stopped upon hearin this suprising statement. Huh...? That guys not part of the clan...? Then what the hell is he doin here...? More questions... As the hooded guy went up the stairs, Freya turned towards the remain members and said, "Nikolas, Kale and I will settle this." Oh shit, I can see where this is headin... Kale turned towards the thief, still munchin on his pocky. "Sorry about that buddy. Could I hear your answers later? Here, take the rest as my apology," Kale said as he gave the box of treats to the thief.
After the dungeon was cleared, Kale turned towards his leader and... friend(?). He imagined there was a lot of talkin ahead, so Kale took a deep breath before startin. "Well, guess I'll start. Let me preface this by sayin the ultimate decision does end up with you, leader. If me and Niki agree with something, although I highly doubt that in this scenario, but you dont like it... by all means, decide for the opposite. With that outta the way... I'm torn," Kale pointed at Iola as he continued to talk, "I severely doubt she's a recruitable character and even if she was, I dont think she gets hard mode bonuses anyways."
Kale turned towards the two members of Celestal Alliance and said with a sigh, "At this point, it's all about risk analysis. Do the pros outweigh the cons? She seems to kno somethin about Ulric, what with her reaction to him hearin... voices. She still has info to giv us, and she could be the only one willin to giv us that, but is it worth the risk? What happens afterwards after she givs us said info? What if she somehow regains her magic again? She already fatally injured Volund..." Kale cringed noticeably after saying this to Freya in particular, but he nonetheless continued.
"Who's to say she wont strike while we all hav our guards down. Her bein weak and unable to use her magic could be a ruse right now and this dinky dungeon aint exactly gonna do much against her fuckin energy beams. However, despite all that... I still dont think we should kill her. I feel that killin her isnt maximizin her potential. We could get info from her or maybe use her as a guide or barganin chip to the enemy. But above all, I dont like the message it conveys. Its like 'Celestial Alliance: The guild where we capture ya, get the info from ya, and then execute ya.' It just seems kinda... barbaric..."
Kale looked up to Niki and quickly said while shakin his hands, "But thats not to say I'm naive though, Niki! If she wont do any of that then yea, shes more trouble than shes worth. It would be foolish to keep her alive if it endangers the clan. At that point, then we hav no choice but to kill her. But I think that should be a last resort, ya kno...?"
Kale took a deep breath. That was a lot of talkin... "Well thats all I wanted to say. What about you, Niki? Though I think we all kno what you wanna do, haha. And Freya..." Kale faced his leader and said softly, "You are our leader. So, please make your final decision with a level head and without regrets." A flash of an injured Volund flashed in his mind as Kale patted Freya shoulder "... Dont let emotions dictate your decision, chief."

"I suppose you'll just have to wait and find out. We didn't expect to fail, so even I don't know what Acheron's second step will be."
Tsk.. useless.
"Some of it was magic. Some of it wasn't, I'm sure it's all too complicated for you to understand. Suffice to say, our technology is more advanced than yours. I'm sure you'll find other unfamiliar things as well."
It was sounding like she still thinking they were way weaker than her, even though she was the one unable to move right now.
"...and could no one else hear those horrific voices!?"
Ulric seemed troubled, with all the sounds on the battlefield earlier, couldn't he be more specific? However that question seemed to deeply bother Iola, who turned a little bit hostile toward him.
"You heard... voices? You know, the Exodites... claimed to hear the voice of the planet...."
"I think you've all heard enough as your reward. Now kill me and be done with it, or leave me in peace."
From the looks of it, she wouldn't give any more infos. Kill or leave her be? Would be an easy choice if he was alone, but Nikolas couldn't move on his own, being part of a clan, pain in the ass... She asked for death, wouldn't it be a good reason?
Freya arrived in the dungeon right after that, she was exhausted, pretty normal considering she was the leader and had to give orders around to make sure everything would be ok.
"I heard... the last few parts, Ulric... are you okay? You were injured not long ago, so perhaps you should lay down... Rain, please take him to rest upstairs."
"This is an issue for us of the Celestial Alliance, please wait upstairs. Nikolas, Kale and I will settle this."
That last part was directed at the hooded guy, so he really wasn't part of the clan, what was he doing her anyway? Not important, even though they were both asking questions to Iola, trust wasn't there yet.
When there was only the three of them left, Nikolas, had already his hand on the handle of his sword, his intent was clear, she said she'd be ok with dying, and considering what she was able to do on the battlefield, keeping her alive in her would be dangerous. However, before he could act, Kale began his monologue.
"Well, guess I'll start. Let me preface this by sayin the ultimate decision does end up with you, leader. If me and Niki agree with something, although I highly doubt that in this scenario, but you dont like it... by all means, decide for the opposite. With that outta the way... I'm torn, at this point, it's all about risk analysis. She already fatally injured Volund..."
Naive.. Bargaining? And if she was the one who'd have won, you would be dead a long time ago, they came to kill, nothing barbaric in killing her in return.
Kale looked at him while he was thinking, almost like he had heard his thoughs "But thats not to say I'm naive though, Niki! If she wont do any of that then yea, shes more trouble than shes worth. It would be foolish to keep her alive if it endangers the clan. At that point, then we hav no choice but to kill her. But I think that should be a last resort, ya kno...?"
"Well thats all I wanted to say. What about you, Niki? Though I think we all kno what you wanna do, haha. And Freya... You are our leader. So, please make your final decision with a level head and without regrets... Dont let emotions dictate your decision, chief."
Kale stopped talking, for a guy who's strongest point was running away, he had a lot to say...
"You're done now? For my part, I'll be quick." Nikolas took out his sword from it's sheath and placed it on his shoulder. "She was here to kill us, she doesn't sound like she'll be of any utility outside of what she told us earlier, and with her magic power, I don't think this cell can survive when she'll recover from the shock. So I propose myself as the executor. However if you opt for keeping her alive, I say we at least cut off those arms... and maybe her legs too.. so that way, the chance of her destroying the whole place are reduced. Your choice leader."

After he finished speakin, Kale looked at Niki to hear his opinion.
"You're done now? For my part, I'll be quick." Nikolas took out his sword from it's sheath and placed it on his shoulder. Kale quickly reached into his jacket and grasped a dagger in both hands. If the decision is to kill her, then so be it. But you're not gonna kill her before we reach a conclusion here, Niki. "She was here to kill us, she doesn't sound like she'll be of any utility outside of what she told us earlier, and with her magic power, I don't think this cell can survive when she'll recover from the shock. So I propose myself as the executor.." Shocker.
"However if you opt for keeping her alive, I say we at least cut off those arms... and maybe her legs too.. so that way, the chance of her destroying the whole place are reduced. Your choice leader."
Kale's eyes grew wide after hearin his "peaceful" compromise. Holy shit, if that's his way of keepin Iola alive, I wonder how the hell hes thinkin of killin her.
"Wait just a second there, Niki. What the hells the difference!? You think she can survive havin all 4 of her limbs chopped? You think we can make a cleric cast a little Mend spell then all'll be well? Sorry, but we're not playin in Easy Mode here. Once the shock and blood loss kills her, theres no way to revive her. And even if we could, who the hell would wanna live like that? Freya, if you're gonna choose to keep her alive, we hafta to think of another way to incapacitate her. I'd rather you opt to kill her otherwise; that'd be far more merciful.

Freya listened to both Kale and Nikolas speak their full opinions, without interruption. She had expected them to have two very different opinions, which was why she had chosen the two of them to remain behind. She wanted to hear the pros and cons of both. "We're not going to cut off all her limbs, Nikolas," Freya shook her head. On that point, she was very clear. If they were going to kill Iola, it would be a clean death. "It sounds dangerous to keep her here... We don't understand her magic, and what she'll do when she recovers," she stared at Iola. Iola met her gaze proudly. Even injured and with her fate in their hands, Iola said nothing while they discussed her life or death. "But... killing a prisoner... I don't think that's what the past leaders would have done. We're still recovering from the aftermath of the Eternal Night... and how we deal with the problems we face now... will also affect how the other clans see us." The last thing they needed was an outcry about justice, and possibly severing themselves certain allies.
"Put your sword away, Nikolas. When she's recovered enough to walk, we'll let her go," Freya decided. It was a point in between, one neither had suggested, but Freya couldn't think of a better way.
"Really? You're just letting me go?" Iola scoffed. "I make no promise that I won't attack again..."
"I understand..." Freya began walking away. Her business with the prisoner was concluded. "If you fall in combat, so be it. But we're not going to kill you in cold blood." She stopped on the stairs, looking back at Kale and Nikolas. "You two should get some rest, as well. We have a lot to do tomorrow." Without telling them what task she had in mind, Freya left the dungeons, planning to return to Volund's side.

Nikolas ignored Kale's indignation over is 'plan' for keeping the prisoner alive. He was looking at his target, ready to act if the leader accepted his proposition.
"But... killing a prisoner... I don't think that's what the past leaders would have done. We're still recovering from the aftermath of the Eternal Night... and how we deal with the problems we face now... will also affect how the other clans see us."
"Put your sword away, Nikolas. When she's recovered enough to walk, we'll let her go."
Nikolas was astonished, they'd just let her go, she came in to slaughter them all and they'd just leave her away? Iola seemed suprised as well, but Freya had made her decision, she was already going up the stairs when she stopped and looked at them.
"You two should get some rest, as well. We have a lot to do tomorrow."
And she was gone. Nikolas still hadn't moved an inch, seems Kale hadn't either, probably to stop him if he wanted to kill the witch anyway. After about 5 minutes without moving, looking at both Iola and Kale, Nikolas finally decided to put his sword back at his side.
"Leader decision... Can't really go against it without repercutions..."
Saying he was disapointed would be an understatement, he completely ignored Kale and started going for the stairs, at least there was some hope for something interesting to do on the next day, as hinted by Freya.
